Read your great reviews of SanFrancisco and your travelogue of Sydney. Your granddad and I bypassed Alcatraz when we were in SanFrancisco. It looked so ominous to us from our on shore observation spot. Syndey sounds like a great place to visit. Emily Shooter is flying to New Zealand today. You may already know she will be in Aukland. On the map the distance looks like 500 miles north from Christchurch by the way the crow flies. Probably more miles by land travel.
I’ll try to get a letter in the mail to you.

It is still March 1st Monday evening here. I can’t believe we haven’t had snow since Saturday. Your beautiful post card came this afternoon. Cathedral Square looks very inviting. I will get a note in the mail to you tomorrow, I promise. Always nice to receive mail.We’re looking forward to Deborah and Tim’s visit. Wish ou could make the visit with them.
