FAQs

I get these questions a lot :)

What will you be doing in New Zealand?

Since I’m studying abroad, studying of course! Okay, well I’m only taking 3 classes and I do plan on seeing the rest of NZ as much as possible… but I’m takingĀ  a class on “Kiwi Culture,” “Traditional Maori Society,” and a Maori language class. These have nothing to do with my Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences major, but they do fulfill some core requirements. Canterbury does actually have a “Communication Disorders” program, which is part of the reason I picked it, but my adviser thought it better not to take those for some good reasons. This won’t put me behind in my major at all.

Why New Zealand?

Good question! Well I knew I wanted to do an exchange program… and Canterbury fit all my requirements of being exchange and direct credit for my college. Like a lot of other exchange students I’ve met here, the beautiful land does have a lot to do with it!

Why Study Abroad?

Hearing about other friend’s study abroad experiences definitely had something to do with this. This is an overused phrase, but it really is a once in a lifetime thing! and I love to travel!

When do you get back?

around June 27th!
